Just for Tracey

Tracey and I were watching the Oscars and Amy Adams performed her nominated song from the movie Enchanted. This led to Tracey mentioning that Enchanted was probably her favorite movie of the year. Just for her, her is my favorite song from the movie

Just terrible

Yesterday (Friday) Tracey's office had their end of the business year celebrtion and this year instead of having an awesome party with a terrible gameshow, they had a luncheon at the Market Street Grill and they did not invite spouses (thanks a lot BMW bank jerks). After the lunch, they let everyone go home early which left Tracey and I, a free late afternoon. I let her choose which movie we would go to and because she is a girl, she chose 27 Dresses. The movie was pretty by the numbers up until Cyclops uttered a line to Gummy Sue at the climax of the movie that almost completely ruined the entire movie. After someone pours out their heart who would just say "get over here". It really joins the ranks of the worst lines at a crucial moment in a movie. I know they are the worst because when I repeat them to Tracey I get punched. I will recap just a few.

1. "We are the island"- This is from the completely terrible movie, The Island. Actually this was the first movie quote that got me punched. I guess it is supposed to mean that then knocking boots is paradise but it ends up coming off as stupid.

2. "Ditto" This one is from Ghost which I will honestly say, I only watched because it used to always be on cable. I mean there is nothing women love more than telling someone they love them and hearing "ditto" back. I am not even going to mention the whole Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg making out scene

This is just a small sample. I was going to include some stuff from Top Gun but the movie is obviously a love story between Ice Man and Maverick but not everyone might agree.

Summer Movies Part 2

So back by popular demand, and by popular demand I mean that I can not think of anything else I can possibly think to write about, it is the list of movies that I have never seen and all I know about them is what I have seen in the trailer. I think I said the list was supposed to be 5 long so I will do two more and then finish it up later on. Now I know that you are dying to hear about the most hyped, most highly anticipated movie of the summer Bratz but I do not think that I did it justice so you will just have to go see it in the theater just like every other person on the planet. The only questions left is how soon can they make a sequel and how high the box office records will be. Anyway, on to the precaps.

3. Knocked Up: aka The 40-year old virgin 2 the electric bugaloo. Ok so maybe this movie is not the sequel to the 40 year old virgin but it has the same writer, same director (which isn't too hard since the writer is the director), and almost the same entire cast. From what I hear even Steve Carrel has a cameo as himself. This is like one of those "Frat Pack" movies that has the same core people but it is about 100 times dirtier than any of those movies with Vince Vaughn or the Wilson brothers. If I did not know people that talked like the characters in the movie, I would think it was fake. Precap rating 3.97 stars

4. Ratatouille: How Steve Jobs continues to suck the cash out of my wallet. I was going to say that these two movies could not be more different but Tracey was nice enough to point out to me that one movie is made for kids and the other is about making a kid so I guess they are not as unrelated as I previously thought. Anyway, this is a Pixar movie so you know it is going to be really good for kids and with enough adult humor that grown ups will like it as well. Throw in the fact that it is about cooking and I am sold. Precap rating 3.76 thumbs up

The final Movie precap coming some time in the future

Summer movies part 1

Ok, if you are at this site then you have noticed the name of this blog has both Tracey and Ben in it. Now I know she is really busy finishing up her thesis, but after June 22nd everyone needs to tell her to step it up and post some stuff. The truth is that I am really not that entertaining and we need some good posts to keep people reading. With that said, I decided to present my summer movie recap, or since I have yet to see any of these movies, a precap. So here are the top 5 movies I am excited about in no particular order

1. Pirates of the Carribean, Attack of Kiera Knighty's Jaw. Ok so I hesitate to point this out since once I noticed it I could no longer take her seriously in anything but Kiera Knightly has a ginormous jaw. She really reminds me of this guy. Anyway, ignoring the jaw this is the movie I am probably he most excited about. From what I hear it focuses a lot on Davey Jones and his ex-lady friend. On an unrelated tangent, if you were trying to be a pirate that strikes fear into the hearts of men would you really go with Davey Jones? I mean Davey? Isn't that like a professional boxer named William going by Willy? Honestly I would pick a much better name like Bruce Bloodfist or something really masculine. Anyway, I give it 3.5 future stars

2. Transformers: Rise of my childhood. Ok so I am automatically excited about this movie since it is a movie based on the greatest toys of my or any generation. Now this has not always worked out well, but I think they have the budget to not make it completely campy and cheesy. Now it is a Michael Bay movie so all I am expecting is lots of explosions and crazy camera angles with little to no plot, but isn't that what summer movies are all about? Plus they already won me over since in the newest trailer has the old school transforming sound in part of it. I give is 3 future stars.

More more movie pre(re)views coming up later...
