The Sickies

January marked a momentous occasion at our house.  Sam got the flu. For the first time ever.  Up until now we have only dealt with teething and colds.  No flu, no ear infections, nothing.  I keep telling him that he only has himself to blame for smooching Kaia.  (See below)  He has spent the last couple of days laying on the floor and the couch and of course, puking.  Ew.

After 10 days and 6 pukey loads of laundry Sam is almost back to normal.  He got up this morning and went straight for his toys.  Now maybe I can get back on track and get rid of the 7 lbs I've gained in the last 2 wks.  Ben blames the stress.  I blame the milkshakes.

Little Sweethearts

Sam has a girlfriend.  Her name is Kaia.  She belongs to Ben's buddy  "Big" Sam (see previous post).  Kaia actually has lots of boyfriends but we're hoping she will eventually come around.

"Wow, she's cute! I wonder if I should say something or if I should just try to steal her mac n' cheese."

"Maybe I'll just feel her hair. My mom likes it when I feel her hair."

Busted.

We've moved . . .

Into another apartment. Actually they are "Villas".  Yeah right.

A couple weeks ago I realized our lease was up on our apartment.  About the same time Ben decided to accept a post-doc position at the University of Utah working for his professor.  I realized that if we are going to stay in Utah for another year, I was going to need more space.  And by "I", I mean Sam.  Previously his bedroom had doubled as an office.  This solution was no longer working.  Mommy and Sam each needed some personal space.

Driving home from my parents a couple of weeks ago, I decided to look at the apartments in their neighborhood.   Imagine my delight when I realized that they were much newer and nicer and 400 more sq feet. Then I went and looked at them.  GORGEOUS!  Wonderful view, a garage AND a washer and dryer. All for only $50 more a month. I can practically see my parents house from one of our 2 (that's right, 2) "terraces".

Angels sang.

Monday we started packing. Yesterday we moved. Today we have a new address.  Let me know if you need it.

Ben says now I have an awesome apartment to match my awesome husband.  And you know what, he's right on both accounts.

Family Tradition

We used to give my mom a hard time about giving my little sister Bethany Diet Coke when she was little.  Now I understand.  (You can hear Bethany laughing in the background) I particularly like the part where Ben tries to take the bottle away.

In my defense it was my dad who gave him the bottle. Before this he had never had soda.  (Yeah, right.)

My BFF

Kara and I have been friends since we were 16.  This weekend she married a wonderful guy.  Of course he is wonderful, his name is Ben!   I got to spend 3 days in Denver playing with her and some old friends.  She even let me shoot her special day.  We had lots of fun.

We even got to have our very last sleepover and share a bed, just like the old days.

The best part was the night before the wedding I was asleep and all of a sudden, she reaches over and grabs my hand.  She says that I turned and looked at her with my eyes wide open and said,

"Hi Kara."

Her response, "I thought you were Ben."

Apparently both us would prefer to sleep with a Ben.

You two are the cutest!  Congratulations!
