We have a climber

Today Sam climbed our dresser to get a building block. He didn't pull out the drawers though. He climbed it only utilizing the drawer knobs. They are 2 inch circular knobs. It was ridiculous. I didn't think he could do it but sure enough, he put one foot on the knob of the bottom drawer and the other on the second and proceeded to hoist himself up.

Over the last month he has also decided that his favorite place to hang out is on our bed. But only if I have made it. He likes to watch TV there. First he turns on the TV and then the DVD player containing Little Einsteins. It has the "Fast Play" option so he has time to get on the bed and settled before the movie starts. The only challenge is that our bed is pretty tall. He has found that he can't climb up from the foot of the bed unless there is a laundry basket full of clothes. (Not uncommon) However, if he goes to my side of the bed and pulls out the drawer to my bedside table he can use the drawer as a step to get up. This is typically a good time for me to take a shower and get ready for the day. I simply lock the bedroom door so he is confined to the bedroom and bathroom. At least he was confined until yesterday . . . when he learned how to lock and unlock doors.

Not good. Not good at all.
