7 Months!

Mr. Sam turned 7 months yesterday and he is

MOBILE!!!

He isn't crawling but he is sitting by himself and rolling to get to where he wants to go.  Here is a map of his movements this morning while we were playing on the floor.

And his final goal . . .

Yum.  Metal.

I think it is time to protect the house from the baby.  And no, I do not mean protect the baby from the house.

Slammin' Samma Jamma

I was working on Sam's scrapbook tonight and I came across these pictures. I forgot how funny they were. We took this picture the night the Utes won their BCS bowl.  That is his Utah t-shirt.

I think I'm going to use this as the title page for his book.

This Is How Sam Rolls . . . Or Sleeps.

Why does my baby only want to nap on my bed?  He sleeps in his bed at night just fine.  Naptime, different story.  His new thing is he wants his face covered when going to sleep.  Crazy dude.  So yes, I am a bad mom who lets him nap on my bed.  I also let him cover his face, but just until he is asleep and then I pull it off his face.

What can I say?  We have memory foam.

Family Pictures

Our family pictures are done . . . for the most part.

Mr. Sam had a little mishap on the day of pictures and took a little tumble.  (We're still working on the sitting skills.)  After his tumble, he would no longer let Jessica take pictures of him unless he was being held.  We all know that Sam is the star of the family so Jessica was sweet enough to offer to have another session with Sam so we can get more pictures of just the dude.   So tomorrow we will try Round 2.

In the meantime, you can check out Jessica's blog and see the pictures that she posted.  We are so pleased!  She did a beautiful job!  I even like the pictures involving me.  Shocking!

If you are looking for a photographer we TOTALLY recommend her.  She was very cute and so easy to work with.  Here's her other website. Give the woman some bid-ness.

So Old.

3-0

I'm 30.  I'm a married stay at home mom with the cutest little boy in the world.

When did this happen?  How did this happen?

Ben's brother used to say something like "If you are 30, you might as well be 40.  If you are 40, you might as well be dead."  (He is now 36)

Is it at all surprising that Ben says things like "People who drive minivans have given up on life."

I'm 30 and still kickin. And I don't drive a minivan, I drive an Expedition.  Is that the same thing?

In honor of being 30, I thought I would impart the FEW things that I learned in my 20's.  I figure I need say these things before I die of old age.  Or in case Ben buys me a minivan.

1.  If you have a choice between seeing a movie at a theater that assigns seats or in one that does not, go with the assigned seats.

2.  Tattoos on your hip grow when you get pregnant.

3.  Quitting jobs can be scary but it can be the best choice sometimes.

4.  When you become a mom you immeditialy perfect selective hearing loss.  Ask Ben. I have it down.

5.  Nothing beats a Frosty float and an episode of Lost.

6.  Finish your degree.  Even if the only reason is to get people to stop asking when you will be done.

7.  Family is the greatest.  Even if they are crazy.  Get married and get even more family.  More fun and more crazies.

8.  Sometimes people think you are crazy.  It doesn't mean you are. People can have their opinions and so can you.

For instance,
A C-section is not the worst thing that can happen to you.

You can get your baby to sleep in his own bed, in his own room.

Getting married in Utah after the age of 25 does not mean something is wrong with you and you can still find a good dude.

9.  Internet dating works. It's how I found Ben and I wouldn't trade him for the world.

10. Dating sucks.  Find the right dude, get married and have some babies.  Life is so much better. Not necessarily easier, but definitely better.

My Son.

Sam is so my child.  The last couple of nights we've heard little noises coming from his room.  When we go to check on him, he is fast asleep.  So what are the noises?  Sam . . . talking in his sleep . . . just like his mom.  Oh, my little buddy.

Happy Birthday!

So I'm a day late . . . Yesterday was Granny's (Ben's Mom) and my Grandpa Dannelly's birthdays. March is a crazy month for us.  Ben calls it the Bermuda triangle of birthdays and I happen to fall into the triangle. Since we didn't have enough birthdays this month my sister Karen decided to add one.  Allison was born last Thursday and joined the never ending list. Lucky for me, Ben is taking me to Disneyland for my birthday (the big 3-0) so we get to see Ali Saturday! And yes, we are leaving Sam home!

Here are some favorite pictures of the birthday people!

Granny and Miss Miriam (aka The Pink Blur)

My Grandpa Dannelly and Sammy when he was just a little thing.

Happy Birthday Ali, Adam, Granny, Grandpa, Berk, Nathan, Margaret, Tracey, Grandpa and all of you other family members that decided to be born in March!

2 Teeth!

The second tooth is here!  It popped through yesterday.  Hopefully this means that my normal baby will return and his evil alter ego will take a break for a little while.  We keep threatening to throw him in the garbage. Luckily, there are a couple of grandmas who would scoop him right up.
